At 10:00 AM Eastern Time on Wednesday, October 10, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and Federal Law Enforcement officials will hold a press conference to inform the public of risks related to counterfeit airbags installed in vehicles. This announcement is not specific to Honda and Acura. We expect NHTSA to provide general information about the risks of counterfeit airbags in vehicles from all OEMs. At this time we do not have any additional details about the information that will be provided on Wednesday morning.

We have asked NHTSA to instruct owners of Honda and Acura vehicles to contact Honda Automobile Customer Service at (800) 999-1009 or Acura Client Services at (800) 382-2238 if they have questions about their vehicle. Should a customer contact your dealership please refer them to either of those customer service numbers for interim information.

We will provide more information to you as it becomes available, including recommendations for customer handling, as soon as we can prepare those materials.
